Miss North Dakota Teen USA
Miss North Dakota Teen USA 2017
November 20, 2016 was the day Kilyn Parisien-Hill considers “changed her life forever.”
This year’s competition was only her second time competing in a pageant; she took second runner up in the competition prior to her win. After a year of practice, Kilyn won her crown.
A freshman at the University of Oregon, Kilyn is majoring in Sociology and aspires to be a surgeon someday. “I want to help people all over the world someday with my medical degree,” Parisien-Hill says.
During her free time, Kilyn enjoys lifting weights, spending time with family, reading books, watching sports, volunteering, and playing with her dogs. She has rescued dogs her entire life and loves caring for them, along with other animals.
Kilyn prides herself in excelling in academics. She was the valedictorian of her class in 2016, and received the Gates Millennium Scholarship in the last year of its funding, over 52,000 applicants for the prestigious scholarship. She was the president of her National Honor Society chapter, Student Council, and Senior Class and participated in Gifted & Talented Math/Science/English/Leadership in high school. She spends majority of her time in college studying so she continues to excel.
As Miss North Dakota Teen USA 2017, Kilyn plans to impact her community, state, and eventually country with a program that will provide underprivileged kids with winter gear of their choice to keep them warm and happy. She looks forward to taking part in many volunteering opportunities during her reign and representing North Dakota in the national competition, with the hope that she will win Miss Teen USA 2017.
